As a wedding professional in the Okanagan, I know, it is seldom that vendors/suppliers in the wedding industry have a chance to partake of social time as well as have the opportunity of networking. This past week that changed. I have to give credit to Bob Graham of Airwaves for hosting a marvelous networking evening at the local Wedding Cafe in Kelowna. Bob runs a very professional DJ service (Airwaves Music) and being a musician himself has sourcing for many musicians, artists and musical groups.
Kelowna's wedding industry is a dynamic network of businesspeople in Canada's fastest growing city. The "what" and the "who" came together to create a high energy exchange of ideas and knowledge and of course to share last year's wedding stories.
The who's who of Kelown'a wedding industry were there. Everyone from Hal Puder of TTM Events, fellow wedding planners, like myself as well as musicians Edmund & Shari House, many Photographers including Jessia Zais, the renowned Marriage Commissioner James Harnden, the ever vivacious Danielle Logan from Stage Right etc. and so many more. Suppliers came from Vernon and as far south as Osoyoos to attend this event.
Tim Floritto from The Hungry Chef provided us with tasty appetizers all night long, and of course background music provided by Bob Graham and his team at Airwaves Music. Bob needs to be congratulated for putting on such a terrific event during what is sometimes a slow season for wedding professionals. Soon we will all be in the hub of summer bookings but I for one will look forward to hob knobbing with my fellow colleagues again in the fall. Well done Bob!
Wishing all my fellow wedding professionals a busy summer wedding season!
